Born and raised in Boston, his "health and wellness" credentials date back to 1988 when he opened a retail health food store offering organic foods, herbs and vitamins. He subsequently founded one of Illinois' largest and most successful wholesale tire companies. In 2006, he used his experience in the automotive industry as the launching pad for a "green" venture, an electric vehicle company.
As a seasoned entrepreneur, he has always been drawn to health and wellness. Having been in the direct selling industry for 30 years, his ultimate dream was realized with Salu. "I had always wanted to build a business around two primary objectives: Share the importance about healthy living while generating the best possible financial outcome for the largest possible number of people", Caron states. Caron's uncanny ability to motivate and drive sales is what sets him apart and makes Salu the success it has become.
He and his wife of 17 years have 2 children. His hobbies include international travel.
Growing up in Meridian, Mississippi, Salu International CEO Mark Barnes was one of those electronics whiz kids. At age 8, he built an AM radio from scratch. While studying engineering at Mississippi State, he also DJ'd at a local FM radio station, worked as a professional photographer and flipped pies at Pizza Hut.
In 1984, Barnes completed the Federal Aviation Academy air traffic controller program in four months and was immediately assigned to the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport (a process that normally takes years). Since 1994, he has been managing the air traffic control center serving Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world's busiest airport.
Barnes brings serious technical expertise, coolness under pressure and visionary leadership to his job -- qualities that support Salu International's commitment to innovative product development, structural soundness and long-term stability. Multi-tasking and managing complex situations, motivating and managing professionals in a high-stress environment, making split second decisions that affect thousands of lives every second of the day - those are the qualities Salu founder Ray Caron was seeking when he asked Barnes to be the company's CEO. A commercially licensed pilot, Barnes loves to travel with his wife and two daughters. The family has been all over Europe, Asia and to Hawaii "about 30 times." On weekends, the Barnes crew loves nothing better that flying to the beach from their home in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Another great addition to the Salu team of innovative entrepreneurs is dedicated collaborator Tracy Hunter, who brings over 30 years of experience in business operation and financial management. Impressed with the performance of Salu's products, Hunter was drawn to the company's objective and high potential to successfully help people both financially and in their health.
Being proficient at generating opportunities into mass profit and having keen economic insight, Hunter has found much success with diverse investments that have ranged from real estate to the stock market. Dedicated to bringing Salu's vision to action, Hunter is delighted to be able to have a share in providing attainable business opportunities for people of all sorts.
Hunter's main hobby, woodworking and design, also doubles as a successful business of 22 years. He and his wife have enjoyed twenty six years together and have a 5 year old son.

Growing up in a poor family in southern Georgia, Carroll knew he could only count on himself. Working in the grocery business as a courtesy clerk and stocking shelves was a start, but soon it became clear he wanted more. He was soon in charge of opening and operating new stores for one of the country's largest grocery chains.
After years of working in the corporate world, increasing their profits, and being available 24/7, it was time to venture out on his own. Motivated by his strong desire and work ethic along with his knowledge of the industry within 2 years he owned his own chains of stores. After selling the chains, he retired.
With free time and an unfaded drive to work, he joined forces with the founder of Salu, Ray Caron. Ray saw his operations experience as an asset to Salu. Carroll's background is the perfect fit for overseeing all company operations such as administration, marketing, shipping, and product development.
